One of the questions I am asking myself today is, “if diets really work!” Do we have to starve ourselves in order to lose weight?
The things I have learned having been in the situation myself and that may help you too is that, it doesn’t to be that hard once we are aware of a few principles.
Here’s a great site that really help me to see clearly in all this: The Diet Solution Program.
A few Simple things to Know
It’s a situation that is somehow really discouraging. I know. You put all that hard work to manage to lose weight and it goes well for a while. But somehow along the way for different reasons, you simply begin to stop doing what you were doing. And of course as a result, we gain all that weight back and we get so discouraged that we just wish to give it all up.
You probably already know it, but the trick here is not to stay away from food but to eat the right kind.
But it was a surprise for me to learn that there is some foods that we may think that are good for us that are actually causing us to either gain weight or just prevent us to lose any. But when we know what those of foods are it become easier to go grocery shopping.
Of course sugar is on top of the list. But did you know that cereals, whole wheat bread, low fat salad dressing, canned food, micro wave dinners and even sweetener are the foods that are either causing you to gain weight or preventing you to lose any?
And on the other side there are some types of food (even some we were taught to avoid) that actually helping us to burn fat. So then, we know what to add on our grocery list.
All fruits and vegetables are always a right choice. Fish, poultry, steak, even eggs and raw nut (not roasted), virgin olive oil, real butter (instead of margarine)… And we shouldn’t be too limited in what food we can eat that can actually help us to lose weight and help our body to function better.
So Does Dieting Really Work
So does dieting really work? Are you eating the right kind of food? I know I’m on the righ path if I can say yes to the last question.
